In-app payment support arrives on Android

Right on cue, Google has launched in-app payment support for Android applications. Developer testing began last week, and now many popular apps -- like the ones pictured above -- can begin charging users for add-on functionality, content, or whatever the heck else they feel is worthy of additional bits of your pocket change. If you were wondering, Google will take the same 30% cut that Apple takes from in-app purchases.

At last we can buy individual issues in Comics with minimal fuss!

Iran Likely Suspect in Cyberattacks Against BBC

The BBC was the target of hack attacks earlier this month, according to comments made by BBC Director-General Mark Thompson in a wide-ranging speech to the Royal Television Society on Wednesday. There was a simultaneous attempt to jam two different satellite feeds of BBC Persian into Iran, and to disrupt BBC's London telephone lines via multiple automatic calls, he said. There was also a sophisticated cyberattack on the news service.

Interlocked is a three-dimensional brain teaser

interlocked
Back when I was a kid, I used to love crafting ornate puzzle boxes out of Lego. There would be just one way to open the box, by carefully shifting and rotating a bunch of pieces. Well, either that, or breaking the box in frustration.

Interlocked takes that spirit and turns it into a beautiful Flash game. It's a good thing the soundtrack is soothing, because the game itself can get pretty frustrating.

At the start of each level, you're presented with a box built out of blocks in different colors. You can click and drag the mouse to rotate the box any which way. Once you decide you want to shift a part of the box, hit SPACE to switch into "move" mode. You can then click any part of the box and drag it. Of course, you can only move a part as long as nothing is in its way. So it becomes a matter of understanding how the box is built, and what parts you need to move around so you could eventually take the box apart.

It's a tricky, difficult game, but it's a great brain teaser -- and definitely a keeper.

The Tegra 3 4-PLUS-1 quad-core processor (that's the one with the fifth battery-saving core we've talked about before.) Or maybe it's because of the awesome optional keyboard dock, that basically turns the whole thing into an Android tablet. Or maybe it's because the entire package because a near-console-quality gaming system.

Oh, and we're giving two of 'em away, keyboard dock and all, thanks to our pals at NVIDIA. You've got two chances to win.

We're gonna run this contest through 8 a.m. PDT Monday morning, so you've got the weekend to get things done. Good luck!
